WBC president Jose Sulaiman who together with his family went through a very trying time when the only daughter of his only sister was kidnapped was overjoyed when the lady, Nelly Catalina Esper Sulaiman returned home today.
An email from the WBC president’s son Mauricio Sulaiman to Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today disclosed that the lady returned one year, eight months and twelve days after she was kidnapped in Mexico.
Mauricio Sulaiman said "our president would like to extend his deepest gratitude to all his friends of the Board of Governors, the Executive Committee and all members and friends of the WBC for all the prayers to the Almighty, for their constant communication and concern."
Sulaiman added "this is one of the happiest days of the Sulaiman family and pur president wanted to share this news with you."
WBC founding secretary general and a close friend of Jose Sulaiman, the eminent Philippine lawyer Rudy Salud said he was "delighted to hear the good news, especially for Don Jose who agonized over the kidnapping. We thank God that the collective prayers of boxing people who value President Sulaiman’s contribution to boxing and his friendship have been answered."
