WBC Chief Jose Sulaiman says Manny Pacquiao’s legendary timing is off….politically wise!
It looks like Manny’s going to the LEFT on the political shelf for the time being, by losing a lopsided decision via a political mauling to Darlene Antonino-Custodio in the contest for a congressional seat representing North Cotabato, in his homeland.
Boxing’s most exciting slugger, had asked the WBC for some time off to follow his political aspirations. And although the answer was YES, he doesn’t appear to be having the same dynamic impact at the ballot box, as he does in the ringed square.
Don Jose tried to square a circle by pointing out: “I believe that Manny Pacquiao made a mistake at this particular time. He should have run for politics, after retirement from boxing.
“God gave him this boxing ability, that has made him multi hero and a multi millionaire. So he should stay where he is a king, until he has to step down. Then he should use his popularity to go into politics, when he can totally devote his time to that. Because the voters will say now…what is he going to do boxing or politics?!”
Don Jose urged Manny to listen to wise counsel and said he’s confident that at the right time, he’ll also be a political champion. But he also commented: “Manny has a very changing mind. He’s A today and B tomorrow. White today and black tomorrow, and that is very difficult.”
