The Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association has made a decision that Gennady Golovkin will continue forward as the "regular" champion. A request made by the middleweight champion, [for super champion status], was denied for the moment due to the fact he was already granted special permission to take a fight prior to his mandatory commitment.
However, even thought he was denied the status of super champion, he might receive such a status at a later date.
In the same division, on December 21, the fight between Juan Camilo Novoa and Dmitry Chudinov will be ruled as an elimination clash for the interim title. Chidinov won by TKO and will be recognized as the mandatory challenger [to Murray's status?] starting on May 2014.
Meanwhile, Martin Murray is still the WBA's Interim champion.
