In his most recent website column, promoter Frank Warren doesn't want to be on the receiving end of any more criticism when it comes to a potential fight between UK rivals Ricky Hatton and Junior Witter, the current WBC junior welterweight champion.

Witter has been chasing Hatton for years and using his trash-talking abilities to call him out through the media. Time and time again, Hatton has said that he's not inclined to make the fight because of how Witter trashed his name in the press for the last few years.

When Warren promoted Hatton, the media criticized him for not putting together a junior welterweight clash between his fighter and Witter. Warren has not promoted Hatton for over two-years, and points that out when people try to place partial blame him for the fight never taking place.

"Ricky Hatton has once more insisted that he won't give Junior Witter a pay day by agreeing to fighting him. If Floyd Mayweather had thought the same, he'd have never have fought Hatton," Warren said.

"Ricky also claims that he's upset by Witter's insults, but the Hitman has handed out a few verbals to Mayweather. I always got the blame for Hatton-Witter not happening on my watch, but I've not promoted Hatton for more than two years, and the fight's still not gone on. I rest my case."
