Promoter Frank Warren says David Haye (21-1, 20KOs) does not have to chase after heavyweights in America and throw around big money to land a challenge. Warren has a heavyweight ready and able to go in Haye's very own backyard in the form of Matt Skelton, who sports a near identical record of (21-2, 18KOs).

Haye has been hunting for an American heavyweight to fight on November 15 at the O2 Arena in London, and his prospects are running low after several possible deals fell apart. Warren says Skelton would provide the perfect challenge, but Haye won't take the fight because of his suspect chin.

"He doesn't have to scour the world for an opponent as I have said before there is one right here for him - Commonwealth Champion Matt Skelton. Matt Skelton fought for the WBA world title earlier this year, has never been stopped - and Skelton is ranked 73 places higher than JD Chapman in the independent rakings," Warren said.

"But chinny Haye knows that Skelton is very durable, packs a punch and could knock him out, so won't go anywhere near him. At times this week, Haye's and Booth's attempts to find an opponent bordered on the farcical. Expect things to get worse before they get better."
