There is a lot of information circulating in the German media regarding the preparations by Arthur Abraham regarding his upcoming fight in the Super Six with WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward. "King" Arthur wants to restore his honor after the dominating decision loss to Carl Froch in November. After losing two bouts in a row, Abraham was lucky to have had enough points in the bank to continue his journey to the semi-finals of the Super Six Boxing Classic.
There is still consideration of a tune-up on February 26, which is going to happen prior to the fight with Ward, who is healing from injuries suffered in his last bout against Sakio Bika. Ward's speed and movement will give Abraham problems in the same manner as Andre Dirrell. Dirrell was outboxing Abraham until the final rounds when the tide began to change. Abraham was breaking him down and got ahead of himself by hitting Dirrell while he was down. The referee would award Dirrell as the winner by disqualification.
In his last two bouts, Ward has relied less and less on his speed and movement. He stood close to his foes and slugged when needed. Ward is not as physically imposing as Froch and shouldn't have the ability to push Abraham around.
Ward has been knocked down in past bouts by lesser opponents. Abraham is a one punch knockout artist. The level of danger will be there and Abraham has already stated in the German media that he's going to leave everything in the ring.
