WBC female jr. lightweight champion Frida Wallberg will defend the title September 3 in either Karlstad or Gothenburg with Pugnus promoting it. Wallberg will face the lady she won the title from, Olivia Gerula from Canada. What makes it a bit special is that the M.A. Delegation have approved the fight to go ahead over ten two minute rounds - the first in Sweden over that long distance since pro boxing returned in 2007 after being prohibited since 1970.

The first Wallberg vs Gerula clash was fought over eight two minute rounds - after special permission from the MAD - as well as the WBC, which of course normally stage female title fights over ten two-minute rounds.

The standard distance in Sweden is 12 minutes which is based on the writing in their regulations which calls for "acceptable safety for the performers".

In other Swedish news highly ranked (EBU) welter Karlo Tabaghua, with a win over Jackson Osei Bonsu in his last fight, has turned down an offer to fight on a small hall show in Orebro on May 28. Team Tabaghua says they have offers for bigger fights abroad.

The show in Orebro, a mixed M M A /boxing event, and promoted by Kamran Kabinejad, is now topped by cruiserweight Wael Haddad and female jr. middleweight Mikaela Lauren.
