Polish heavyweight giant Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KOs) admits that he's got "nothing to lose" in a potential fall fight with WBA/IBO/WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 51 KOs). Wach says a press conference is possible in the coming weeks in Hamburg.
Wach is planning to feel Wladimir out for the first five rounds and then go all out in the second half of the fight. He wants to avoid the past mistakes of Wladimir's other opponents. Wach feels some of the opponents laid back for too long and allowed Wladimir to build enough confidence to attack.
"I never look for a knockout in any fight. The key challenge will be the first four or five rounds. After the sixth round I will be very confident. Then I'll do anything to hit [Wladimir] and win the fight. The case will become clear after the first few rounds. If you do not stay in [in the fight], he will gain confidence and move to attack," Wach said.
"In terms of mental preparation, the fight with Klitschko will be one of the easiest. Not a single expert considers me as a favorite, so I will just go out there and do what I do best. This is sport, and that's boxing. One must win and one must lose."
