Two Filipinos, Roilo Golez and Frediriex Rodriguez have lost in title fights in Bangkok, Thailand over the past couple of days.
Golez dropped a unanimous ten round decision in a battle for the WBC Youth light flyweight title to Thai champion Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep while Rodriguez retired in the seventh round of a clash for the vacant WBO Oriental super flyweight title to Prasitsak Papoem who fights under the name Kwangpichit 13 Rien Express at Chulalongkorn University Sports Center.
The 20 year old Yodmongkol won on the scorecards of all three judges with two judges givibg the Thai a 97-93 margin and the third judge scoring it 96-94.
With the win Yodmongkol improved to 15-2 with 9 knockouts while the 23 year old Golez dropped to 11-6 with 3 knockouts.
The Thai champion won the vacant title with a 7th round knockout over Indonesia’s Heri Purnomo on August 27, 2010.
In a non-title bout on the undercard, 20 year old Rey Lorito (4-8, 1 KO) lost a unanimous six round decision to 24 year old Noknoi Sitthiprasert whose record improved to 33-4 with 20 knockouts.
The 29 year old Kwangpichit maintained his unbeaten record which improved to 9-0 with 5 knockouts while the 22 year old Rodriguez suffered his first loss to drop to 7-1-1 with 5 knockouts.
