Light heavyweight and former super middleweight top-ten rated contender Maxim Vlasov (30-1, 15 KOs) contacted BoxingScene today to present an exclusive update on his current promotional and managerial status.
“I wish to announce that presently I’m a free agent in search for a competent manager stateside”, commented WBC #10 rated light heavyweight. “I have been previously working with Banner Promotions and TopPlayers promotions, as well as with manager Cameron Dunkin, but right now I’m free of any connection with them”.
“Regarding my Russian ties, I’m working closely with Kirill Pchelnikov and his promotional group but we don’t have any written agreement and we are working based on a mutual respect between each other while making fights in the Old World”, added Vlasov, 28. “Victor Petrochenko is presently working as my head coach”.
Vlasov, who is also rated #6 by the IBF and #9 by the WBO in the super middleweight division, is planning to continue his career in the light heavyweight or cruiserweight divisions. “I have gained some weight and now I’m shifting between 175 and 200 pound limits”, said the 6’4’’ boxer-puncher.
Vlasov was last seen in the ring in Riga this July, stopping former world title challenger Ruben Eduardo Acosta in seven rounds. He is also 11-0, 5 KOs, since losing narrowly and controversially to Isaac Chilemba in February 2011.
