The manager for WBC champion Vitali Klitschko says former champion Nikolai Valuev should stop being stubborn and accept their challenge. Klitschko's management tried to reach an agreement with Valuev, who made a request for $4 million dollars through his co-promoter Don King. The fight did not happen as a result.

Bernd Boente said Valuev has few options because the German television networks have not been receptive in a fight with Odlanier Solis and the only other option would be a rematch with David Haye, but the British fighter is being reported as being involved in talks for a possible fight with countryman Audley Harrison.

"We are ready to fight against David Haye or Nikolai Valuev. But right now the staging of this fight depends on Don King. We know that the fight against Odlanier Solis will fail because their requests for German television has not been successful. It seems that now Valuev has only one choice - to fight with Vitali Klitschko. The only alternative option could be a rematch against Haye. Our proposal to Haye still remains in full force," Boente said to Russian reporter Alexander Pavlov.
