While British fans are cheering the heavyweight campaign of David Haye, WBC champion Vitali Klitschko is apologetic - because he's going to knock Haye out if the two ever fight in 2009. During the last few days, Haye has vowed to beat and stop both of the Klitschko brothers. At first he wanted the younger brother, WBO/IBF champion Wladimir, but now he wants older brother Vitali.

"You know what, first we will have the talk and then we will fight and we will see what happens. I give my best to make the same decision as in every fight, I will knock him out - I am so sorry," Vitali told Southwark News.

The older Klitschko is waiting on whether or not Lennox Lewis is going to make a planned return to the ring. If Lewis decides to remain retired, Vitali will make a mandatory defense against Juan Carlos Gomez and then target Haye. He was impressed with Haye's speed and power during fifth round knockout of Monte Barrett.

"I am surprised with his speed and I am surprised with his power and I was very impressed with this fight. I saw with David some good skills and many strong sides but I also saw weaknesses. I try to use his weaknesses," Vitali said. "He was the best one at Cruiserweight and I was long time the best at the Heavyweight division so let's see."

Haye's trainer and manager Adam Booth, told the paper that Barrett has a better chin than Wladimir, and that's the reason why K2 Promotions [owned by the Klitschkos] is placing Vitali in there instead of Wladimir.

"All of a sudden they have started putting the one with the better chin in front of us, that wasn't the plan. But he (Vitali) has WBC mandatory against Juan Carlos Gomez so that put Wladimir at the front," Booth said.

"Monte (Barrett) has a better chin than Wladimir there is no doubt about that, and David can nail Monte he can nail Wladimir. If Wladimir Klitschko says I'll do it, we will do it immediately. There are no other exciting fights for them in the division, and they are looking to secure their legacy's and what better way to do that than fight the undisputed Cruiserweight champion stepping up."
