At a recent media event in Stuttgart, Germany, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko told mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Gomez that he plans to knock him out cold. They clash on March 21 at the Hans-Martin-Schleyer hall in Stuttgart. ESPN has picked up the rights to televise the fight in the United States.
Klitschko told Gomez that it might be hard - but he will hit the deck.
"You are difficult to send to the floor but I'll manage it," Klitschko said. Gomez replied to some media laughter by telling the champion "you talk too much."
The two fighters have a history, sparring together when they were under the same German-based promotional banner. Gomez won a final elimination bout against Vladimir Virchis last September to get the Klitschko shot.
