The news coming of out of Ukraine is that former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko lost for the second time in his bid for the mayor's seat in Kiev. Based on the current results, Leonid Chernovetsky had 33% of the vote, followed by Oleksandr Turchynov and Klitschko, each with about 20%. Klitschko finished second in a 2006 run. The second time around, Klitschko asked for help from the consulting firm run by former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

With the mayor's race out of the way, Klitschko can place all of his energy into training for the upcoming October bout with WBC heavyweight champion Sam Peter. Klitschko has been inactive since December 2004.
