The president of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Stjepan Mesic, will officially open the World Boxing Council’s 44th annual convention on October 30 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
A great number of special guests have confirmed their attendance at the convention. Vitali Klitschko, the former heavyweight world champion, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, one of the most outstanding middleweights in history, and Azumah Nelson, the greatest African world champion in history, will attend, as well as super lightweight world champion Junior Witter of England and super middleweight world champion Mikkel Kessler of Denmark, both of whom recently won the titles.
Mate Parlov and Marvin Camel, who fought in the first cruiserweight world title fight in history in Croatia in 1979, will be presented a special award.
