WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko says a fight with undefeated contender Chris Arreola will be even bigger than a potential meeting with David Haye. Last week, Haye threw the Klitschko camp a curveball when he unexpectedly withdrew from what appeared to be a done deal for a clash on September 12 in Germany, and then signed a contract to fight WBA champ Nikolai Valuev on November 7.
Klitschko has set his sights on Arreola and wants the fight to happen soon. There has been talk that Klitschko plans to return in October. HBO is very interested in the fight.
“I'll be boxing versus Chris Arreola. This 28-year-old American has so far lost no bouts, and in his latest fight he knocked out [Jameel] McCline. The interest in this fight will not be lesser, but even higher,” Vitali told Ukraine News.
