At the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, Brian Viloria (25-2, 15 KOs) knocked out Ulises Solis (28-2-2, 20 KOs) in the eleventh round to capture the IBF junior flyweight title.

Viloria appeared to be much stronger than Solis in the first half of the fight, rocking him in the first and busting him up until the midway point. Solis, cut above both eyes and sensing that he was behind on the cards, began to use his boxing skills to take over the fight. Viloria would counter by mounted his own comeback in the championship rounds. He caught Solis with a hard right that sent Solis down for the count.
