Vadim Bukhkalov and Roman Valesiuk of Elite Boxing Promotions staged a tiny event at the “Freestyle” sport complex in Kiev, Ukraine. There were only five fights during this evening but the card featured several promising prospects; all of them scored dominating stoppage victories over sub-par opposition.
In the main fight of the night, rising light welterweight gun Victor Postol moved to 12-0, with 8 KOs, after somewhat ambiguous stoppage of Kyrgyz Jahongir Abdullayev (18-5, 6 KOs) in the fourth round of a scheduled ten. Postol was an overwhelming force since the outset. He was battering his opponent all around the ring giving him no rest at all. In the fourth, Abdullayev went down on an accumulation of punches. Postol went right after them as soon as he got up and soon decked him again with two powerful left hooks to the body. However, he also punched the Kyrgyz fighter while he was already on the canvas.
While a referee was counting, Abdullayev stood up and turned his back to both a referee and Postol showing his bitter disagreement with an issued knockdown. He was thus counted out at “ten” although he was seemingly ready to continue this action. A gallery of this fight can be seen here.
Another Elite Boxing prospect, Dmytro Kucher (11-0, 9 KOs), showed the glimpse of a future star in a stunning performance against Norse Kim Jenssen (10-4, 6 KOs). Kucher took the first round off to study his opponent. He got to work in the second and soon rocked the Norway representative with some wicked left hooks to the liver. Kucher followed this success with a right-left-right combination of punches, and down went Jenssen for the first time. He barely beat the count and made it to the third stanza.
The finishing touch was near, however, and soon it was delivered by the Ukrainian with a big right hand to the temple. Once again the Norse got up but was too wobbly to continue thus suffering his first ever loss inside the distance. A gallery of this fight can be seen here.
