Former 147-pound champion Victor Ortiz (29-4-2, 22KOs)  welcomes a potential fight with WBO/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs), who is likely moving up to welterweight in 2014.

Ortiz returns on January 30th against fellow former welterweight champion Luis Collazo at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There have been lingering rumors that Garcia would face the Ortiz-Collazo winner.

Both Ortiz and Garcia came up in the ranks under their former mutual manager Shelly Finkel. But, this is business.

"Absolutely, why not [have a fight with Danny Garcia]? I've known Danny for many years. He's a great guy, a great fighter, but this is my time. 147 or 154...get out of the way," Ortiz told BoxingScene.com.
