At Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Victor Ortiz (28-2-1, 22KOs) knocked out Vivian Harris (29-5, 19KOs) in the third round of a junior welterweight contest.
Both boxers started slow in the first. They circled around throwing jabs. Ortiz with a few decent shots in the final minute. In the second, a straight power left hand sent Harris down. Ortiz started picking his shots and caught Harris with a right hook against the ropes to send him down for a second time. Ortiz once again took his time and landed a right hand that sent Harris down for the third time in the round. Harris was able to make it out of the round. In the third, an inside uppercut sent Harris down face first and the ref stopped the fight very quickly.
