IBO bantamweight champion Vic Darchinyan (36-3, 27KOs) is not going to waste his time. If he can't get a rematch with either Abner Mares or Nonito Donaire, he might move up to the super bantamweight limit of 122-pounds. Darchinyan was the champion at 112-pounds and the undisputed champion at 115.
This past Saturday Darchinyan put himself back on the map with a five round domination of Yonnhy Perez. He wants to avenge his defeats to Donaire and Mares. The big fight for Darchinyan at 122 would be the winner of Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.-Jorge Arce, which takes place on the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley undercard on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Darchinyan has a stoppage victory over Arce from 2009.
"I want to fight Abner Mares or Nonito Donaire. If they won't fight me, then I want to move to another weight division," Darchinyan told BoxingScene.com's Luis Sandoval.
