WBA/WBC/IBF super flyweight champ Vic Darchinyan is making plans for a jump in weight to pick up another division title. Darchinyan returned home to Sydney, Australia on Tuesday and told reporters that he wants a title at 118. Last Saturday he battered former champion Jorge Arce on route to an eleven round stoppage.
Darchinyan's manager Elias Nassar told the Australian Associated Press that he would like to set up a bantamweight title fight with either Japan's WBC champion Hozumi Hasagawa or Ghana's IBF title holder Joseph Agbeko. Because of the cut he suffered against Arce, Darchinyan is unable to fight for at least sixty-days.
He wants to return to the ring by May.
