At Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California, WBC/WBA super flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (33-2-1, 27KOs) knocked out WBC interim-champion Tomas Rojas (32-12-1, 22KOs) in two rounds.
After getting off to a bad start with Rojas using his reach to land some crisp shots to the head and kept Darchinyan on the edge with the end of his jab. In the second, Darchinyan started to mix it up more with Rojas and landed a huge counter to Rojas' chin as they fought against the ropes, sending the Mexican fighter down for the full count.
