Vargas vs. Mayorga Negotiations Continue

A source close to the situation has confirmed that a proposed fight between former champions Fernando Vargas and Ricardo Mayorga is far from a done deal. There has been no final decision made on the date, location or venue.

Contrary to numerous reports in the media, Main Events is still the promoter of record for Vargas, and are currently in negotiations with Don King, promoter of Mayorga, to make the fight happen.

At present time, the only confirmed aspect is the fight being offered as a pay-per-view attraction. It's safe to say that Mayorga would have to meet Vargas at the middleweight limit of 160-pounds.
