According to former four division world champion Erik Morales, who is now the head trainer of unbeaten Jessie Vargas, his fighter had the opportunity to get in some good sparring work with Shawn Porter, who himself is preparing for a very important fight.

Vargas returns on June 27th against Timothy Bradley for the vacant WBO welterweight title in Los Angeles, and Porter is back next Saturday night in Las Vegas, where he battles former three division champion Adrien Broner.

Morales had Vargas sparring with Porter, Lanardo Tyner, Lydell Rhodes, and Phil La Greco at the Spring Mountain Youth Camp in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"The work being done in the gym is specific, with the strategy and plan of combat to successfully face a fighter of the level of Bradley," said Morales.

Morales replaced Vargas' previous trainer Roy Jones, who had scheduled conflicts due to the fact that he's still an active fighter and television commentator.
