Donald Trembley of Main Events confirmed to BoxingScene.com that Fernando Vargas vs. Ricardo Mayorga, scheduled for Sept. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, has been postponed until further notice.
It appears that Vargas' bloodwork showed that he was suffering from a bad case of anemia and is unable to go forward with the upcoming fight.
"His doctor does not want him fighting for at least eight weeks," Trembley said.
An official announcement will be made shortly.
