Samuel Vargas says he is ready to crash Amir Khan’s Birmingham party on September 8.

The Colombia-born Canadian was in England to announce the second fight in Khan’s comeback following his heavy defeat to Saul Alvarez.

He is setting out to do what Breidis Prescott, Danny Garcia and Alvarez have done, and knock Khan out.

“It’s like a rock,” he said of setting about attacking Khan. “If you keep chipping at it it’s going to break and that’s what happens with a chin. Obviously I’ve been stopped but he’s hit the ground really hard a couple of times. He’s got back up and then he’s hit the ground again.”

Vargas has lost inside the distance to Errol Spence and Danny Garcia and he rates Spence as the best in the world at 147lbs, above Terence Crawford and the rest.

“I’ll have Spence because I’ve fought him,” Vargas added. “His real estate in the ring is impeccable. He knows where he is at all times, he knows his reach, when to jab... The real estate in the ring is everything and he controls that really well. He also has punching power, range, ability, it’s incredible.”

He admits that while he might not have seen speed like Khan’s before, he is ready for a partisan crowd on the night.

“Spence is probably one of the quickest guys I’ve fought,” he continued. “From what I’ve seen I’m going to have to adjust to his [Khan’s] speed a bit in the first few rounds.

“I was in Belfast with Steve Molitor when he fought Carl Frampton and that was pretty wild. I expect the same thing if not much louder in Birmingham but listen, I’ve been here before. I went to north Philadelphia and fought Danny Garcia but the guys here are actually really nice. I’ve seen it all.”
