Undefeated junior middleweight prospect Vanes Martirosyan was very impressed after watching the recent training sessions of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Vanes and Chavez are both trained by Freddie Roach at the Wild Card. Chavez is preparing for his pay-per-view fight with Alfonso Gomez on December 4. Vanes began training with the hope of securing a fight in the near future.
"Chavez Jr. is looking very good in the gym and I think this is the best I have seen him. So far he looks like a different fighter. He looks real sharp. He really looks like a completely different fighter and he should show that to the world in his next fight," Vanes said.
"And as far as me, I started camp to get ready. My new team (Standing Eight Management) is doing a great job and I'll be in the ring soon. I hope I get the title shot that I've been waiting for soon."
Vanes is giving Sergio Martinez the edge to defeat Paul Williams in tonight's rematch at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
