BoxingScene spoke to undefeated up and comer Vanes 'Nightmare" Martirosyan about rumblings that a potential fight between WBO junior middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk and himself is being discussed. Martirosyan has been on BoxingScene numerous times calling out Dzinziruk among others. Vanes said that he had been on vacation for the last week or so but did hear the rumor.
"I haven't heard anything from Top Rank but I hope the rumors are true," Vanes said.
The Armenian said that he heard the Dzinziruk fight may take place on 11/6 and be paired with Juan Manuel Lopez-Rafael Marquez at the MGM in Las Vegas as the co-feature or maybe end up being the co-feature to Miguel Cotto vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on December 4th.
"I have wanted a fight with Dzinziruk for a long time. I hope Top Rank can make the fight because I know I will leave the ring as a world champion," Vanes said.
