BoxingScene.com has learned that a crossroads junior middleweight bout between Vanes Martirosyan and Ishe Smith is being discussed for the late summer. There's a chance it could land as the supporting bout for the featherweight match-up between Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz that is being slated for August 29th in Los Angeles.
Martirosyan (35-2-1, 21 KO's) is coming off a close loss to Jermell Charlo on March 28th, while Smith (27-7, 12 KO's) decisioned Cecil McCalla over ten rounds on April 30th.
Vanes and Smith recently traded words on the social networks.
