Nikolay Valuev’s manager Boris Dimitrov commented on the information about the possible fight of his client with WBC heavyweight world champion Vitali Klitschko.
“We didn’t receive any official offers from Vitali Klitschko’s team, – told Boris to AllBoxing.Ru. - That has already happened before. Rumors emerged that one of the Klitschko brothers wanted to meet Nikolay in the ring, but it never went further than the media speculations. Still I accept the possibility of such a bout to be held next year. If we’re officially approached, we’ll agree to it".
The Russian boxer meanwhile shared his opinion on Vitali’s last fight with Kevin Johnson. “To be honest, I’m surprised that Vitali couldn’t win by a knockout, – told Valuev to Sportbox.ru. - I didn’t expect the fight to go the full distance. Johnson is one-handed boxer and never was a threat to Klitschko. Also I was surprised that Klitschko practically didn’t go for body shots”.
