Jose Castillo, manager of Edwin Valero, wants the fighter's alcohol rehabilitation to move to the United States in Los Angeles, California. If Valero agrees, Castillo will make the necessary motions to obtain a visa to enter the country.
Because of Valero's legal troubles in Venezuela, and last year's charge in Texas for driving under the influence, Valero's visa request may get denied. If that were to happen, Castillo will then set a course to enter a rehab center in Mexico City with the support of the WBC. Castillo wants to get Valero away from the media in Venezuela, who are hounding him every time he steps outside.
"I want to convince to Edwin to move his rehabilitation in Los Angeles, where he had lived in the past. He would bring his wife and his children. I think it's better to speak with Edwin to see what he wants to do. In the event they deny the visa [request], we would go to Mexico, where the WBC would help us, probably in Mexico City," Castillo said.
