Vladimir Hyrunov, manager of heavyweight giant Alexander Ustinov, expects the World Boxing Association to order a fight between his boxer and Wladimir Klitschko - for the vacant WBA heavyweight title.

Klitschko lost the WBA title to Tyson Fury last November. After that loss, the sanctioning body ordered a tournament to consolidate all of the WBA belts in the division.

As part of that tournament, Klitschko was going to face Fury in a rematch, Ustinov was going to face Luis Ortiz for the interim-title - and then the winners of those two fights would face each other.

But since then, Fury has vacated the WBA title, and Ortiz vacated the WBA interim title and has alternative plans.

By default, Hryunov feels the WBA has to order Ustinov-Klitschko for the belt. Klitschko is now talking about a March, April fight with IBF champion Anthony Joshua, so he might be out of the race for the WBA title as well - which would open the door for Lucas Browne, who has a legal claim to fight for the belt.

"Right now we are waiting for the WBA's resolution that would clarify the WBA's ordered tournament - where the winner of the fight between Ustinov-Ortiz had to face the winner of the Klitschko fight. Fury is now clearly out, so if they are following the rules of the previous resolution - then Ustinov should be the opponent for Wladimir Klitschko," Hryunov said.

"The next fight [for Ustinov] is scheduled in December, everything else has to be discussed. I think for Wladimir Klitschko - a fight with Ustinov is a great inconvenience, because Alexander is the same size as him and very motivated."

Ustinov is ranked third in the WBA rankings, followed by Klitschko. Ustinov has a professional record with 33 victories (24 by knockout KO) with 1 loss. On Klitschko's end there are 64 victories (53 by knockout) and 4 losses.
