The "Universum is back" show at the Dima Sportcenter in Hamburg, this past Saturday night, also marked the beginning of a new era as Waldemar Kuch is now officially the main man of the company - with Klaus Peter Kohl and his son-in-law Dietmar Poszwa in the role of being "advisers".
Reportedly Kuch has the support of some major sponsors from Russia. The Sportcenter itself is located on the outskirts of Hamburg and the fire department nixed the original plan for 2500 spectators.
Even with a lot less fans in attendance, parking was still a problem as well as public transportation. Kuch has a background in sports and business but he never worked in boxing. Universum, in terms of boxing, is still very strong even with a lot less fighters under their roof but with no major television deal in sight the future is of course shaky.
Finnish cruiserweight Juho Haapoja won the vacant EU title on Friday night in Helsinki and next up is a fight at home in Seinajoki on November 25. No word on opponent yet.

Ermanno Fegatilli´s voluntary defense of the EBU jr. lightweight title against Karim Chakim that was scheduled for October 7 haven postponed until November 25. Wasquehal, France, remains as site with EuroProm still the promoter.
