Undefeated Black Country light middleweight, Kyle Spencer (6-0), wants to put a frustrating 2013 behind him as he prepares for his first fight in 10 months.

The 23-year appears on EJKO Promotions’ March Mayhem Show at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 1st March looking to make up for lost time.

Spencer started last year with a bang, recording a first round knockout of Jimmy Price. He followed this up with a hard-fought points victory over Dee Mitchell in May but, due to a number of shows being cancelled, has been inactive ever since.

“It has been a difficult few months,” Spencer admitted to www.uko-boxing.com . “I started the year with a quality performance against Price and then scored a hard points victory over Dee Mitchell. I thought that it was going to be a good year for me.

“I thought I’d be out again in July but that never happened. I was on a show in September, which I trained for but it got cancelled, then I thought I’d landed a Bronze Masters shot in November but that show got cancelled; it’s been tough.

“I want to put that behind me now though and put 2014 in front of me. I want to make up for last year. It’s great to be on another EJKO Promotion show. They’re always first class and you know that they always go ahead.

“It’s been difficult to stay focused. From last summer, I had about 15 or 16 weeks in camp, training for fights that fell through. It was frustrating. My name hasn’t been out there and I haven’t been earning from the sport but, on the flip side, at least I’ve been in camp for a lot of the time, so my core fitness is still there.

“That’s all behind me now. I’m in training for 1st March and I’m ready to make it seven out of seven. It’s time to kick on now.”

Topping EJKO Promotions’ ‘March Mayhem’ show is the British Masters Welterweight Title fight between Stourbridge’s Steven Pearce and Sheffield’s Ryan Hardy and the Bronze Masters Light Welterweight clash between Walsall’s Luke Paddock and Stoke’s Kevin Hanks.

Coventry’s Midlands Area super featherweight Champion, Troy James, Dudley light middleweight, Kyle Spencer, Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke, West Bromwich light middleweight, Tom Stokes, Wolverhampton super featherweight, Des Bowater, Stoke’s welterweight, Josh McLaren, all feature on the undercard alongside three debutants - Coventry light middleweight, James Montgomery, Birmingham cruiserweight, Ollie Lambert, and Leicester welterweight, Ryandeep Nandha.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party takes place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bradford Street, Walsall.

Two World Boxing Union European Championship bouts head up Dave Murphy’s Acourtier Events latest offering WARZONE, which takes place at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on Saturday 1st March 2014.

Headline fight of the night sees former WBO and IBF Inter-Continental Champion Mark Prince making a welcome return to Championship boxing, when he challenges a yet to be named opponent for the vacant WBU Europe Cruiserweight crown.

Prince, whose record stands at 21 fights, 20 wins, 16 by way of knockout and just the single loss, when he challenged then WBO Light Heavyweight King Dariusz Michalczewski for his coveted title.

Co-headline sees the UK's European #6 ranked Marianne Marston, take her first tilt at a major Championship honour, against the highly experienced Bulgarian #1 ranked Galina Gumliiska, for the WBU Europe Super Bantamweight title.

Heading up the undercard is big punching George 'Hit Hard' Hillyard, making his most welcome return to the pro ranks, in a six rounder against a yet to be named opponent.

After turning pro in 2005 George become one of the brightest young stars in the Matchroon Sport stable, however after his son Oscar was born partially blind, George found it hard to focus on his career, so in 2010 George decided to put his career on hold, in order to focus on providing the best care that he could for his son.

WBF Lightweight Champion Chris Goodwin makes a rare trip to the Capital City, to take part in a non-Championship six round bout, against a yet to be named opponent.

Also making the trip south from his Birmingham home is former England amateur captain Antonio Counihan, who will be making his second pro outing.

The highly entertaining ‘Rockin’ Robin Deakin will be back in action, this time as a ‘house’ fighter.

American Professional Basketball player Manny Muhammad is set to switch disciplines, when he dons boxing gloves and step into the square ring on March 1st.

WARZONE also features the professional debuts for former Amateur stars Suz Member, Nathan DeCastro and European Medalist Sarah Knight.
