Sheffield hot-shot Kell Brook believes he can become a world champion by the end of the year.

The unbeaten 24-year-old faces big domestic rival Michael Jennings in a WBO welterweight world title eliminator on Frank Warren's huge 'Magnificent Seven' show on September 18 at the LG Arena, Birmingham, live on Sky Box Office.

The belt is currently held by the world's best pound-for-pound fighter Manny Pacquiao, but Brook believes the Filipino is likely to vacate.

And if he does, the Yorkshireman could be in pole-position to capitalise.

"When I beat Jennings, I should be next in line to fight for the WBO belt," said Brook.

"And if Pacquiao does give it up, I'd like to think that I could get a shot by Christmas.

"I'm fresh and hungry at the moment and I want to fight as much as possible.

"I don't care who Frank Warren puts in front of me, I will knock them out."

Tickets for the Magnificent Seven are priced at £40, £50, £80, £150 and £200 and are available from:

SIMPSON TELLS SMITH HE HAS NO CHANCE

Furious John Simpson has hit back at Stephen Smith - and told him to forget about winning the British featherweight title.

Simpson defends his Commonwealth crown against Smith at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall on September 4.

The fight will now also double as an eliminator for Martin Lindsay's Lonsdale belt.

On Thursday, Smith said he would beat Simpson and set up a shot at the British crown.

But the fired-up Scotsman has hit back.

"Stephen can keep on dreaming about the British title, but he'll never win it," said Simpson.

"What he seems to be forgetting is that he needs to beat me to get his shot, and that's not happening.

"He's a good kid, but come on, does he really have the experience and the tools to beat me?

"This is my 11th championship fight and his first.

"It's one thing beating up journeymen when you are coming through, but quite different when you have to take on a real champion."

Simpson himself also believes that he has some unfinished business with the Lonsdale belt, having held it briefly before losing a narrow decision to Paul Appleby.

"I was so close to winning it outright," said Simpson. "The chance to do so again is massive incentive.

"I want my old belt back, and beating Smith will take me a step closer to doing that. There is no way that I am leaving the ring on September 4 a loser, especially in front of all my own fans."
