Unbeaten heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (13-0, 9 KO’s) has thrown his hat in the ring to be fallen British heavyweight Audley Harrison’s next opponent as he looks to gear his career towards a title shot in the near future.
The 22 year-old was linked to a possible clash with former world title challenger Francois Botha in the spring, only for the British Board of Boxing Control to veto the bout, deeming the South African an un-worthy opponent.
Fury has now turned his attention to the 2000 Olympic super-heavyweight gold medallist, who was pummelled in three round in his world title challenge against WBA champion David Haye last November and has since refused to hang up his gloves.
The 39-year-old is expected to return to the ring in the next few months, possibly in the United States and with Fury no stranger to traveling for his fights, the fight could be arranged on foreign soil as Harrison is unlikely to want to fight in the UK so soon after the Haye fight.
