Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury, and top WWE executive Triple H, gave their takes on the circulating reports that Fury is being paid $12-15 million for the upcoming wrestling match.
Fury will make his pro wrestling debut against WWE superstar Braun Strowman on October 31 in Saudi Arabia.
Due to contractual stipulations, Fury is unable to disclose his pay.
"Listen I can't comment on moneys. So I’ve read, so I’ve read. I've read this. But I don’t know where that information has come from. But I’m not gonna confirm or deny, because I don’t want to breach my contract," Fury told Ariel Helwani's MMA show.
Triple H would not confirm or deby the growing on speculation regarding Fury’s deal with the WWE.
"It is amazing how much people count other people’s money, isn’t it, in today’s world? Yeah, look, you can make an argument at right now that, if you said, what are the four big sports in America, you can make an argument that we’re right there. This is a moment in time. And to his point, I’m not gonna confirm or deny, but the positioning of what we are, it’s no different than any other sport. We’re not the size of the NFL or anything like that, but what we do is up there,” Triple H said.
If the rumors are actually true, it would mean Fury is being paid more money than other boxing stars who took part in WWE bouts.... boxing stars like Mike Tyson, Buster Douglas and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Fury is scheduled to take part in a rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on a date in February - if Wilder wins next month's bout with Luis Ortiz at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
