LAS VEGAS - It goes without saying that Tyson Fury is less than impressed with WBA/WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Both fighters return to the ring in June. Fury (27-0-1) will face Tom Schwarz (24-0) on the 15th in Las Vegas while Joshua returns to ring on Saturday when he faces late replacement Andy Ruiz. Joshua was originally scheduled to face Jarrell Miller but he was pulled from the fight when the New York State Athletic commission wouldn't issue him a license after he failed 3 separate drugs tests.
The two domestic rivals haven't ever came to close to meeting in the ring but if it does happen, Fury is very confident that not only would he beat him but that he would beat him easily.
When asked how he would do it, Fury said, "Punch his face in and that is it. Punch his face in. He is a bum and a dosser. I have told you that Joshua is not a great fighter. He is just a mediocre average heavyweight from the 70's and if it was in the 70's he wouldn't even be a world champion today. That is what we are saying. I will back it up and say it to his face. And if he thinks he can even do anything about it, 'then you gotta come see me bitch.'"
Joshua is a big favorite against Ruiz who suffered his only professional loss in his previous attempt at winning a title against Joseph Parker and hasn't been very active in recent years.
Fury believes that people shouldn't write off Ruiz so fast and believes that in the heavyweight division everyone has the ability to pull off an upset.
"This is heavyweight boxing. Everybody has a chance against everybody. He has as good a chance as the next one. Everybody has the same chance because when you are talking chances everybody has a chance to do something or they wouldn't be here," Fury told BoxingScene.com.
"People may overlook Andy because he has a chubby body and is short but the guy can fight. It won't be an easy fight. Joshua hasn't been out of the UK before. Who knows. He may falter a bit under the pressure. We don't know."
