This Friday night at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia another card takes place that is being promoted by Russell Peltz. The likes of Tevin Farmer and Mike Reed are on the bill but the main event is a super welterweight contest between Tyrone Brunson (23-6-1, 22KOs) and Ismael Garcia (10-0-1, 4KOs).
Peltz believes this will be competitive match-up.
"First of all the styles, you've got a puncher in Brunson against a boxer in Garcia, that's number one," he explained to BoxingScene.com. "Number two, it's local, I mean Garcia might be from Vineland, New Jersey, but that's right across the bridge. You've got two guys at a crossroads.
"Brunson was fed a bunch of stiffs, 19 first round knockouts - which gave him a false sense of security and then when the competition stepped up he lost more than he won," continued Peltz.
"Then in his last fight when you thought it was over, he was dropped twice, he got up and stopped the guy in the fifth round which revived his career. Garcia on the other hand is undefeated in 11 fights. Everyone tells me he's the best fighter I have - I don't see it. He's been underperforming
"So this is one of those fights where the loser can move to the back of the class and the winner moves on."
The Tyrone Brunson-Ismael Garcia, Tevin Farmer-Orlando Rizo and Mike Reed-Aaron Herrera Philly Fight Night bouts headline an eight-fight card at the 2300 Arena, located at 2300 South Swanson Street in South Philadelphia (between Ritner & Porter, Front and 2d Streets).
