Two more over-matched Filipino boxers have been knocked out in Thailand bringing the number of fighters mauled by Thais within the past week to seven, with the Games and Amusements Board apparently unconcerned or incapable of doing anything to stop the massacres.
Jojo Arnado, ranked No 12 by the GAB was knocked out in the fourth round by IBF No. 11 junior featherweight and IBF Pan Pacific champion Fahsung 3K Battery, the same fighter who was annihilated in four rounds by Manny Pacquiao last December 11.
After being content to size up Arnado in the opening round Fahsung picked up the tempo in round two and hammered the Filipino with powerful shots to the body and head. Arnado was staggered by a left hook in the third round before a left cross sent him crashing to the canvas. He was dropped once again after a barrage of punches from Fahsung who finally ended Arnado’s misery when he dropped him once again in the fourth round and referee Somsak Sirinant saved the challenger from further punishment by stopping the bout at 1:10 of the round.
Fahsung improved to 48-8-1 with 26 knockouts while Arnado supposedly dropped to 14-12 but according to boxrec.com Arnado’s record was 4-12 with 1 KO.
Another Filipino, Jun Mgsipoc lost by a seventh round TKO to undefeated IBF No. 13 bantamweight Terapong Kaewongsamed (21-0, 6 KO’s) who hammered the Filipino with vicious combinations to the head and body. The ring doctor took a look at the one-sided massacre and ruled that Magsipoc was unfit to continue. It was Magsipoc’s third stoppage in successive fights. His record reportedly stands at 17-23-4 with 10 KO’s.
