The buyrate numbers for this past Saturday’s pay per view matchup between Felix Trinidad and Winky Wright were announced earlier today by HBO Sports. The middleweight megabout generated nearly 510,000 buy., around 280,000 buys came from cable subscribers and 230,000 came from satellite subscribers. The bout generated a whopping $25.5 million dollars in revenue.

Felix Trinidad flexed his mega-star status in the sport of boxing by headlining a pay per view with the highest buyrate so far in 2005. Trinidad officially announced his second retirement from the sport of boxing this past Sunday when his camp held a press conference in Puerto Rico.
