Oscar de la Hoya and Felix “Tito” Trinidad were great rivals inside the ring during one of the most memorable fights in boxing history.

Now its probable they'll both become new members of the International Boxing Hall of Fame on June 2, 2014, and at the same time! The Boxing Writters Association of America will issue the inductees on October 31st.

“It would be great to be inducted with Oscar, as when we fought in 1999, we dominated the welterweight division” Trinidad said.

During his career, which began in 1990 and concluded in 2008, Trinidad became one of the most popular Puerto Rican boxers in history. He conquered three world titles in three different divisions (147, 154 and 160 pounds).

“Oscar and I were tremendous rivals and now we’re great friends. I never thought we might go to the IBHOF together” Trinidad said.
