Well known South African trainers Nick Durandt and Vuyani Bungu will face disciplinary hearings after a ringside argument that almost ended with an exchange of punches last week in Carnival City. The near fight took place after Moruti Mthalane retained his IBF flyweight title by stopping Zolani Tete in the fifth round.
After an inquiry was held into the incident, acting Boxing SA chief executive Loyiso Mtya ordered a disciplinary hearing. Durandt trains Mthalane and Bungu trains Tete. The trainers were exchanging words over the referee's stoppage and had to be pulled apart to avoid a physical battle.
