Filipino lightweight Amor Tino has lost by a 4th round TKO to WBO Oriental champion Thai Tor Silachai in a title fight in Pathum Thani, Thailand.
Silachai who is ranked No. 7 in the world by the WBO was making the 5th defense of the title he won with a twelve round unanimous decision over Eddie Comoro of Indonesia on March 6, 2009. The Thai champion has won his last seven fights, 2 by knockout and 3 by TKO.
Among Silachai’s victims have been Filipinos Joel Del La Cruz who suffered a 2nd round KO, Mike Tumbaga a 4th round TKO and Dante Paulino a 10th round TKO.
With his successful title defense against Tino, the Thai champion improved his record to 18-2 with 12 knockouts while Tino who was stopped at 2:11 of the fourth round dropped to 12-7-2 with 3 knockouts according to boxrec.com.
Tino was coming off back-to-back ten round decisions over Jaypee Ignacio on February 13 this year and Dante Paulino on July 18.
