Tony Thompson Stops Chazz Witherspoon in Nine

At the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, a battle of heavyweights saw Tony Thompson (33-2, 21 KOs) stop Chazz Witherspoon (26-2, 18 KOs) in the ninth round.

For Witherspoon, it marks the second loss of his career. The first came at the hands of Chris Arreola back in June 2008. He won three in a row since then but now has to go get himself back together. Thompson gets an important win; the second since being stopped by WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko last July.
