IBO International light-heavyweight title holder Tony Dodson (28-6, 14KOs) will get a crack at the Commonwealth title on February 3rd as the Liverpudlian challenges belt holder Ovill McKenzie (19-11, 8KOs) at Bowlers in Manchester.
The 31 year-old, who was due to meet English champion Bob Ajisafe before May after the bout was put to purse bids, has seemingly jumped above the Yorkshire-based champion to be next in line to meet the Jamaican-born McKenzie.
McKenzie, 32, lost out to Tony Bellew twice in the past twelve months before claiming his vacant title in November with a first round blow out against Jeff Evans to finally win the title for the second time and now makes his first defence.
