Yorka Hall, London - Tony Conquest, 28, made a successful sudden transition from the regional up to the continental level and captured a vacant WBO European cruiserweight title against durable and willing but overmatched Irish Ian Tims.
Conquest (10-0, 4 KOs) was the better fighter from the opening round. He easily got the upper hand in numerous exchanges, which his opponent agreed to take his part in with visible joy. Tims (9-2, 3 KOs) was rocked a couple of times during the first two rounds and held his opponent tightly (and wisely) in the majority of the moments to give himself a much needed break. The Irishman also suffered a bad gash over his left eye after an accidental headbutt in round three. The fourth stanza was very hard for Tims, while Conquest fired and landed his combinations with a visible ease. Round five was taken off by the British boxer but in rounds six and seven he imposed more punishment on the brave Irishman. The latter was wilting under fire and finally went down hard after a big right hand from Conquest at the very end of the seventh stanza. He chose not to come out for the eighth thus making Tony Conquest the official winner of this match-up.

A minor upset took place during a fight for the vacant BBBofC Southern Area featherweight title between previously unbeaten prospect Lewis Pettitt and underdog Ian Bailey, who had a negative professional record. Pettitt started the fight pretty good, outboxing Bailey from the distance. The veteran from Slough offered a bulldog's determination and constant pressure as an answer to Pettitt's tactics. He did everything he could but was trailing at the midpoint thanks to the prospect's constant movement. However, after the midpoint, Bailey's hard body attacks started to take a toll on Pettitt. The latter was slowely breaking under fire.
In round nine, Bailey rocked his opponent with a series of uppercuts. Pettitt has never gone down but was overly dazed for more than a minute. He offered little-to-no response despite ducking from the majority of the shots. However, at 2:23 the referee Robert Williams saw enough and waved the fight off. Pettitt is now 8-1, 3 KOs, while Bailey improves to 8-11, with his single kayo coming just seconds ago.

Rising Belfast super featherweight Anthony Cacace improved to 4-0, with 2 KOs, after an easy, lopsided decision over vastly inexperienced Lithuanian import Aivaras Balsys (0-3). The sole score of the fight was 80-72 - for Cacace. BoxingScene: 80-72.
