A war of words on Twitter may have landed BJ Flores a world title shot with WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew.
Flores is very close friends with former two division world champion David Haye - who Bellew wants to fight in the fall.
Earlier this month, Flores (32-2-1, 20KOs) downplayed Bellew's fighting ability and said the Liverpudlian has a glass jaw. He demanded to fight Bellew in October, when Matchroom Sports is positioning his first defense.
Bellew (27-2-1-KO17) fired back at Flores, letting him know that a beating would happen to him and Haye.
"Listen party fiend! I call the shots! You know why? Cos I faced the guy NO ONE wanted to face! Keep partying playboy! Let me get one thing straight - I'll smash you and your playboy friend, the bitch from Bermondsey, Haye," Bellew stated.
Bellew captured the WBC crown in May with a third round knockout of Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park in Liverpool. After that fight was over, Bellew began to call for a fight with Haye, who hasn't fought at the cruiserweight limit of 200-pounds in several years.
Bellew's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, likes the idea of that fight and wants to make it happen.
"We're looking to go October 15 in Liverpool," Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports. "We've got a few options because the division is very difficult. You've got some real elite level fighters there. Flores has had a win since losing a tight one against Shumenov and there's obviously the David Haye connection with Flores, because those guys are close as well."
