Undefeated super bantamweight prospect Tomoki "Little Mexican" Kameda wants to become a world champion by 2012. Kameda (19-0, 12 KOs), 19-years-old, will return to the ring on July 12 in Japan. Currently training in Mexico, he leaves for Tokyo on Monday, where he will join his famous brothers Koki, the WBA bantamweight champion, and Daiki, former WBA flyweight king, as well as his father, Shiro. In Japan he will face Filipino Pumar D. Singwancha.
"My opponent is very good boxer, a southpaw, but I prepared hard and I'll win," Kameda said. "I'm very happy because it's my first featured bout in Japan. Daiki is fighting also, and that motivates me. My goal is to get a world crown to enter history books as the first pair of three brothers who did it."
Kameda said that WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is his idol. He doesn't give Juan Manuel Marquez any shot of beating Pacquiao on November 12 in Las Vegas. Kameda feels Marquez is "too old" to overcome the Filipino champion.
